Dassault Falcon 6X

French manufacturer Dassault Aviation delivered the first new twin-engine Falcon 6X business jet to an undisclosed customer on November 30.

The aircraft was approved by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) in late August.

Since the Falcon 6X's first flight on March 10, 2021, three prototypes have completed an intensive certification program that concluded in May 2023, after more than 1,500 flight hours. A fourth aircraft was fully equipped as a demonstrator.

The 6X can accommodate six to sixteen passengers in a cabin measuring 12.3 m long and 1.98 m high. The executive jet is powered by Pratt & Whitney PW8 12D geared turbofans (GTFs) of 59.9 kN of power, capable of a maximum cruising speed of 516 kts (956 km/h) at FL510 (15,545 m) with a range maximum flight speed of 5,500 nm (10,200 km). The executive jet has a price tag of US$53.8 million.

Dassault Aviation was forced to develop a new type of business jet after March 2018 after persistent problems with its Safran engines canceled the planned Falcon 5X.
