ATR delivers second aircraft with all-business class cabin

On Tuesday (13), Air Tahiti took delivery of a new ATR 72-600 featuring the ATR HighLine All-Business Class configuration, offering 26 individual seats in a 1-1 layout.

The aircraft will be used for the launch of the premium "Air Tahiti Signature" service, scheduled to begin commercial operations in December, connecting Tahiti to French Polynesian destinations such as Bora Bora and Raiatea-Tahaa. All passengers will have direct aisle access, while rows designed for two occupants offer enhanced privacy.

The configuration includes expanded personal space, dedicated storage compartments for personal items, and both USB-A and USB-C charging ports. An executive-style ceiling design has been incorporated to enhance the sense of spaciousness and brightness within the cabin.

Air Tahiti is the second airline to operate an ATR equipped with the HighLine All-Business Class configuration. The first was Berjaya Air, which put the first ATR 72-600 with this interior into service in June.

Air Tahiti Signature...The new ATR 72-600 will be deployed for Air Tahiti Signature, a service created to cater to the premium segment on routes between Tahiti and other French Polynesian destinations. Beyond cabin modifications, the offering includes specialized ground services and an enhanced in-flight experience, creating an integrated regional travel product.

The interior also incorporates design elements inspired by Polynesian culture.

The new aircraft forms part of Air Tahiti's fleet-renewal programme and is intended to strengthen connectivity between Tahiti and some of French Polynesia's most sought-after destinations, including Bora Bora and Raiatea-Tahaa.

The 26-seat cabin is arranged in a 1-1 configuration, replacing the conventional multi-seat rows typically found on regional turboprop aircraft. Every passenger has direct aisle access and a view of the outside, creating a more exclusive environment for short-haul island travel.

Key cabin features include:

Individual business-class seats: Designed to provide more personal space and comfort.

Greater privacy: Dedicated rows can accommodate couples while maintaining a more private atmosphere.

Personal storage: Dedicated compartments help keep essential items within easy reach.

USB-A and USB-C charging: Passengers can charge compatible electronic devices during the flight.

Executive-style ceiling: A redesigned overhead area creates a brighter, more spacious cabin atmosphere.

The interior was developed in collaboration with Air Tahiti and incorporates design elements inspired by Polynesian culture. The airline's premium concept extends beyond the cabin, with dedicated ground services and an upgraded onboard offering intended to create a more seamless experience from check-in to arrival.

Scheduled operations and charters...Air Tahiti plans to use the aircraft for both scheduled flights and charter operations. This strategy expands the utility of the ATR 72-600, an aircraft traditionally used for regional connections and lower-demand markets.

The HighLine configuration was developed to enable the turboprop family to serve various business models, including operations targeting the premium regional aviation segment. The delivery is part of Air Tahiti's fleet renewal program and upholds a partnership with ATR that began nearly four decades ago.
