Lockheed Martin Vectis™: the future of airpower

The battlefield is evolving, and the need for autonomous, multi-mission, and survivable capabilities is rapidly growing alongside it.

Skunk Works® is responding by expanding the program with four additional aircraft, as the team continues to advance toward a first flight in 2027.

Lockheed Martin Vectis™ is designed to deliver a new level of lethality, survivability, adaptability, and operational flexibility to the United States and its allies.

Its flexible architecture will allow Vectis™ to evolve with the mission, while its ability to integrate with crewed aircraft—such as the F-35—will help extend reach, create new tactical options, and keep warfighters ahead of emerging threats.

Developed at high speed... The team went from initial design to wind tunnel testing in less than two months, completed the first digital build in six months, and produced the first part in just eight months, keeping the first prototype on schedule to fly by the end of 2027.

This pace is made possible by advanced design and manufacturing processes developed through internal investments in advanced development programs.

This latest production milestone comes as Skunk Works® reveals a new look at Vectis™ to the world.

At the Air, Space & Cyber Conference, Lockheed Martin unveiled the full-scale Vectis™ model for the first time, offering a tangible view of the magnitude of what is being developed behind the scenes at Skunk Works®.

More than just a representation of what is to come, the full-scale mockup reflects the momentum behind a program that is already well underway.
