Falcon 10X: The new top-of-the-line model in the Falcon family is unveiled

In a remarkable presentation before more than 400 customers, partners and aviation leaders, gathered in a new production hall at Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport in France, Dassault Aviation launched the Falcon 10X, its most ambitious executive jet ever. When the curtain rose at 8 p.m. (Paris time), the aircraft emerged as a bold new benchmark for the future of long-range business aviation. The Falcon 10X features the widest, most comfortable, and versatile cabin ever designed in a business jet, redefining what passengers can expect during flight. “The goal,” says Eric Trappier, CEO of Dassault, “is to allow passengers to experience their time on board the aircraft as just another part of their everyday lives, and not as a long break between origin and destination. This way, they arrive refreshed and in top form.” The aircraft’s spacious interior is 20 cm wider and 5 cm taller than its closest competitor, allowing owners to design interiors that feel less like a traditional aircraft cabin and more like a modern living or working environment.

Offering this level of comfort while maintaining the efficiency and operational flexibility that characterize Falcon aircraft required innovation in almost every aspect of the aircraft. Engineers applied experience gained in the company's cutting-edge military aircraft programs to enhance aerodynamics, materials, avionics, and flight controls. Dassault remains the only manufacturer in the world that designs and builds both advanced jet fighters and executive aircraft—an interdisciplinary advantage now reflected in the Falcon 10X. The Falcon 10X will fly at near-sound-barrier speeds, with a maximum speed of Mach 0.925 and a maximum range of 7,500 nm, allowing it to easily connect the world's most popular city pairs, such as New York to Shanghai, Los Angeles to Sydney, São Paulo to Dubai, or Beijing to Paris.

Passenger comfort was designed with the same ambition. At a cruising altitude of 41,000 feet, cabin pressure will be maintained at an exceptionally low level at 3,000 feet, complemented by 100% fresh air, continuously renewed throughout the cabin, and individually adjustable temperature zones. The all-new fuselage of the 10X features 38 extra-large windows — almost 50% larger than those of the Falcon 8X — that flood the cabin with natural light, making it the brightest in business aviation. At 2.77 m wide and 2.03 m high, the cabin is larger than some regional jets. Customers can configure up to three or four interior areas, including spacious dining areas, Falcon Privacy Suites, full-size bedrooms, and even optional shower facilities.

At the heart of the Falcon 10X is the first all-composite wing in business aviation. The advanced structure combines Dassault's traditional high-lift devices — slats and flaps — with a state-of-the-art composite architecture that improves aerodynamic efficiency and reduces weight. The result is a wing that supports the aircraft's large cabin, while maintaining the agility and flexibility on the runway for which Falcon aircraft are known. “Dassault Falcon aircraft have always been at the forefront of business aviation,” noted Trappier, “and the 10X is no exception, incorporating the best technology currently available. From the owner's perspective, the equation is simple: an objectively better experience.”

More power and higher flight efficiency...The new Pearl 10X engine features the Advance2 core, the most efficient available in the business aviation industry, combined with a high-performance low-pressure system, resulting in a thrust exceeding 18,000 lb. The Pearl 10X offers a radical shift in power and efficiency, while delivering excellent low-noise and low-emission performance. This combination will allow operators access to premium airports and long-haul connections, as well as near-sonic speeds. “Today is a very special day for Rolls-Royce and the team. We are thrilled and proud to supply the engine for this extraordinary aircraft, and I would like to congratulate the Dassault family, as well as the Falcon team, on this special occasion,” said Dr. Drik Geisinger, Rolls-Royce Business Aviation Director.
