Gulfstream delivers first G800, world's longest-range business jet
Gulfstream Aerospace announced yesterday (27) the delivery of the first G800 jet to a customer, marking the entry into service of the world's longest-range aircraft. The delivery comes shortly after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certifications were granted on April 16. The aircraft was equipped at Gulfstream's completions facility in Appleton, Wisconsin.
"We have seen extraordinary demand for the G800, and the entire Gulfstream team is excited to begin deliveries to our customers," said Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream. "The G800 enters service with exceptional program maturity, just like the Gulfstream G700 before it. We look forward to customers around the world experiencing this aircraft's remarkable capabilities and cabin comfort." Recently awarded the 2025 International Yacht & Aviation Award in the Private Jet Design category, the G800 boasts the industry's lowest cabin altitude of 2,840 feet when flying at 41,000 feet. The aircraft offers 100% fresh air in the cabin, a plasma ionization air purification system, and 16 panoramic oval windows, a traditional Gulfstream feature. The interior can be configured with up to four living areas or three living areas and a dedicated crew compartment.
The April 16 certifications confirmed the G800's advanced performance, capable of flying 8,200 nautical miles at a long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.85 and 7,000nm at a high-speed cruise speed of Mach 0.90. The aircraft also reaches 8,000nm at Mach 0.87 and has had its maximum operational speed increased from Mach 0.925 to Mach 0.935.
This aircraft can fly nonstop from Rio de Janeiro to Dubai, São Paulo to Seattle, or Curitiba to Sydney. The buyer of this first jet has not been named, and no sales to Brazilians have been recorded to date.
