Embraer Legacy 600 Executive Jets Now Certified for Starlink

American company Business Jet recently completed the first installation of the Starlink internet antenna on an Embraer Legacy 600 aircraft.

This milestone represented the first Legacy 600 equipped with Starlink technology, further expanding the list of approved aircraft and increasing the accessibility of Starlink to more owners and operators.

The installation process on the Legacy 600 required minimal structural modifications and followed a similar timeline to previously certified aircraft models. “With additional installations planned for several models, we appreciate Starlink’s commitment to expediting this process and helping to provide satisfying owner experiences,” said Wright.

Since the Legacy 600 jet is an executive version of the ERJ-135 regional jet, the modification was also extended to this commercial model, as well as to the larger version, the ERJ-145 and its executive version, the Legacy 650. All four of these models are covered by FAA STC number ST04219NY.

Approval by the Brazilian ANAC and the European EASA is still pending, but should occur soon. In Brazil, only the Bombardier Global 6000/6500/7500 and Global Express/XRS business jets, and the Beechcraft Super King Air 200/300 turboprops have been approved for installation of Starlink antennas.

Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs) are currently available for several other business jet models in the US, including Bombardier and Gulfstream aircraft. In commercial aviation, larger aircraft such as the Embraer E175, Airbus A220 and Boeing 777 already use fast satellite internet technology for passengers.
