Textron Aviation today announced a new high-speed internet connectivity solution for the Cessna Citation X and X+ models.
A Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) was issued by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for high-speed Starlink connectivity on Thursday, March 13, 2025. AeroMech’s STC utilizes the Starlink constellation of low-Earth orbit (LEO) satellites, providing more reliable connectivity over land, water and in remote areas where traditional in-flight Wi-Fi may not provide coverage.
“At Textron Aviation, we know that customers are looking for connectivity solutions that enhance their in-flight experience and help them accomplish their missions,” said Brian Rohloff, senior vice president of Customer Support. “Offering Starlink to the Cessna Citation X and X+ positions our customers to experience cutting-edge technology that delivers one of the best connectivity and aviation experiences available today.”
Customers can schedule Starlink antenna installation at Textron Aviation Service Centers, Cessna’s parent company, in North America and at select International Service Centers. AeroMech’s STC utilizes Starlink’s standalone system, which consists of an antenna, power supply and router, and requires only power input from the aircraft.
In addition to the Cessna Citation X, the Beechcraft King Air turboprop (also from Textron Aviation), the Gulfstream G650 and G650ER jets are the only business aviation aircraft certified to date for the antenna. A number of global airlines, including Qatar Airways and United Airlines, are also already using Starlink internet on their Boeing 777 and Embraer E175-E1 aircraft.
