Flight Simulator is expected to be the next exclusive to arrive on PlayStation 5
Last May, Microsoft announced a change in its strategy in the gaming market and began releasing some of its exclusives for rival platforms.
Now, after alleged leaks indicating the arrival of Forza Horizon 5 on PlayStation, a new title has started to be rumored. According to rumors, Flight Simulator is expected to be the next exclusive to arrive on PlayStation 5.
But it is important to emphasize! These new rumors are actually quite old, dating back to the first month of 2024.
In January of this year, a user published a text with a long list of events that would happen in the world of games throughout 2024. From his post, so far, only the arrival of Flight Simulator has not yet been confirmed. Check out the text of the post below (translated from English):
"Xbox will likely announce its multiplatform plans late next month or just before the end of the fiscal year. ID Software's next game will no longer be an Xbox exclusive and will be multiplatform. Bethesda's upcoming games, which were previously exclusive, have also been changed to be multiplatform. Microsoft Flight Simulator will be multiplatform, and a few other older, top-tier games will also become multiplatform. The Indiana Jones game is a bit of an oddity because it's modeled entirely after Harrison Ford, but will be voiced by Troy Baker. Most of the game will be in first-person, including the whip combat. And Hideo Kojima is finally making a movie."
If the tipster (or psychic) is right, it remains to be seen whether the version of Flight Simulator that will arrive on the PlayStation 5 will be the old version, released in 2020 (video below), or the new one, which is expected for November 19. The truth is that with Microsoft's new multiplatform policy, both Flight Simulator and Forza Horizon 5 should be announced soon for PlayStation. And with the resounding success that other titles like Sea of Thieves have had on the rival platform, it is very likely that more titles – previously exclusive – will be coming. Gamescom is scheduled to take place next week, starting on August 20, and Microsoft is confirmed to be present at the event. Without a doubt, this would be a great opportunity for the Xbox developer to make some big announcements.
