GULFSTREAM
Gulfstream G700 broke a speed record between São Paulo(Brazil) and New York
The G700 reached the 100-day mark since the issuance of the type certificate by the North American Aviation Agency (FAA). Although it is just over three months old, Gulfstream's new flagship achieved several milestones in the period, including its first sale in Brazil.
And precisely its participation in Brazil yielded an important milestone, with new speed records between pairs of cities, including the flight between São Paulo and White Plains, in New York, in 8 hours and 46 minutes, with an average speed of Mach 0,90 or higher. The record was obtained on the plane's return flight to the United States, after participating in the Catarina Aviation Show. Another important milestone was connecting Paris to Montreal in 6 hours and 16 minutes, also with an average speed of Mach 0.90.
Both flights await approval from the US National Aeronautical Association and the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale, which is based in Switzerland, for official recognition as world records. In total, the G700 has just over 700 hours of operational flight and has achieved almost 60 speed records.
During the period, the G700 also obtained an important agreement in Brazil, being the first time that an aircraft with a wide cabin and intercontinental range was incorporated into the fleet of a Brazilian sharing company.
Over the past 100 days, Gulfstream has achieved additional certifications, including from EASA, the European aviation safety agency, along with type certificate validations from eight countries, including Mexico, in addition to steadily increasing flight hours and deliveries around of the world.
