Recently, the Chinese startup obtained authorization for flight tests of the XPeng X2 flying electric car. It is a vehicle with vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) capabilities.
The announcement of the flying car took place during the 1024 Tech Day, with production in charge of the Chinese company Xpeng AeroHT. The developers, in collaboration with the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), have already presented the security system that will be used in the XPeng X2.
The XPeng X2 is equipped with a large multi-parachute system. In the event of engine failure, the system will alert the control module, which will open the parachute compartment, allowing the vehicle to land safely.
Xpeng AeroHT has already successfully carried out field tests of the new safety system, keeping the flying vehicle intact.
