Safran will participate in the US Army's FLRAA project

Safran Landing Systems is on board Bell's tiltrotor aircraft program as part of the U.S. Army's Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) project.

Under the contract, Safran Landing Systems will design and develop the fully integrated landing system for the V-280 Valor aircraft. These shared efforts will lay solid foundations to meet all future requirements. The U.S. Army announced Bell's selection in late 2022.

“We are very proud to officially announce our participation in the program as team members today,” said François Bastin, CEO of Safran Landing Systems. “Safran is honored to be part of this project to develop a system based on US Army requirements. Safran Landing Systems has been a committed partner in this program since 2018 and we greatly appreciate Bell’s confidence in our ability to develop an innovative landing gear system that will enable future long-range assault aircraft to execute critical missions.”

Building on 80 years of experience and an ongoing commitment to innovation, Safran Landing Systems has all the capabilities needed to support the increasing complexity and technological requirements of military aircraft, Safran said in a press release.
