PIPER AIRCRAFT

The company recorded a 14% increase in deliveries in the second quarter

Piper Aircraft surpassed deliveries and revenues in the second quarter of 2023 when compared to the same period last year. The rise comes as the general aviation market continues to stabilize after strong growth over the past three years.

Compared to aircraft deliveries and revenues in the second quarter of 2022, deliveries increased by almost 14% with 7 additional aircraft, and revenues increased by 9 more than US$ million, up approximately 19%.

During the period, there was strong demand for M-Class and Trainer aircraft. The M-Class series order book has reserves until 2024 and the Trainer backlog extends to the end of 2025 and 2026, depending on the trainer model.

“Demand for our high-performance M-Class family, with the M600/SLS and M500 turboprops, as well as the piston M350, shows our steady growth. While new deliveries will remain strong in the second quarter of 2022, availability of pre-owned and pre-owned models remains at record levels at around two percent,” said John Calcagno, president and CEO of Piper Aircraft. “At the same time, sales of the Seminole, Archer and Pilot 100i are up 20% compared to the second quarter of 2022. We continue to see unprecedented demand for our coaches.”

Even though it has maintained growth, in a statement, Piper highlights the existing challenges in the supply chain, which continues to create a complex environment in planning deliveries, given the lack of some components throughout the industry.

The North American market remains Piper's main market, but international sales still recorded 50% more deliveries in the second quarter, compared to the same period in 2022.
