French Rafale jet will have its biggest bomb, the 1000 kg AASM

The General Directorate of Armaments of France (DGA) has pronounced the qualification of the ammunition AASM 1000 GS (modular air-to-ground armament) of 1,000 kg with propulsion and GPS and inertial guidance.

The AASM 1000 is one of the new capacities of the Rafale F4 standard, whose qualification of the first increment (F4.1) is scheduled for the end of January. It will be used by the Air and Space Force and the French Navy from the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, a DGA statement said.
